Last season's meetings between the sides saw incident and goals aplenty - Ton coming away from the Lindsey Field with a four-nil victory in the corresponding fixture, followed by an entertaining 3-3 draw at Homelands, in front of a bumper festive crowd of 288.
Lydd currently lie fifteenth in the SCEFL Division One table with seven points from the same number of games, however can count themselves unlucky in not taking a maximum return from Saturday's home encounter with FC Elmstead.
Substitute Callum Edwards had put Lydd 2-1 ahead in the 89th minute, only for Luke Markey to level deep into injury time for the league leaders.
Results elsewhere over the weekend saw Ton slip to eighth, albeit with games in hand on the sides above, and just four points off the top four - in what is a fairly congested table at this stage of the season.
Ton face a tough test against Lydd's new-look squad blending youth and experience, with Jordan Tomsett, Ryan Philpott, Dale Horton and Craig Calvert all making a summer switch to Homelands, having played at Lydd in 2018/19.
New signings Calvin Sedenu and James Haylock-Ashdown may also be set to feature in Dan Scorer's squad, as Ton look to bounce back from last week's 4-3 reverse at SC Thamesmead.
No doubt one of the first fixtures both sides look for at the start of the season, it would be great to have the backing of your support on the night to help make for another memorable
local derby.
